WHAT IS ZYPREXA?

Zyprexa (olanzapine) is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It may be prescribed along with Prozac.

ZYPREXA SIDE EFFECTS

Zyprexa/Olanzapine has been linked to:

  • diabetes
  • heart failure
  • stroke
  • sudden death

Pneumonia has also been reported. Because of complications, Zyprexa should not be used to treat dementia.

FDA WARNING

As the result of published medical journal reports, Eli Lilly & Co, the makers of Zyprexa, knew of the link to diabetes since 2001. The FDA required Lilly to print the warning label regarding diabetes in 2003.
