What is Propecia?

Propecia (generic name: finasteride) is prescribed in pill form and used to treat male pattern baldness on the vertex and the anterior mid-scalp.  It is a drug to be used by men only.  

Finasterides have also been used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.  The common brand name for this drug is called Proscar.
