Darvocet Lawsuits: Generic Names of Product

Darvocet is the combination of propoxyphene and acetaminophen. The acetaminophen works to increase the strength of the propoxyphene.

Darvocet or Darvon is most oftentimes sold by its generic name of “propoxyphene napsylate and acetaminophen,” which is most times abbreviated as “propoxyphene/APAP” or “propoxyphene-N/APAP.”

Propoxyphene products are considered harmful to your heart. As a result, many people have experienced injury or even death, which has led not only to a recall of the drug, but also to potential lawsuits. In fact, our team of Darvocet lawyers are currently investigating claims on behalf of injured patients.

On November 19, 2010, at the urging of the FDA, Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals Inc., the makers of Darvon and Darvocet, agreed to pull their products from the market. All generic manufacturers were also advised of the recall. Read more about Darvocet from the FDA.

If you are taking Darvon, Darvocet or any type propoxyphene and acetaminophen product, contact your doctor immediately.
